Initial setup
After installing Koharia, you can add a Komga server, use local folders, or configure both kinds of content source.
1. Confirm the system requirement
Koharia requires Android 8.0 or later.
For Komga, have a server address that your device can reach plus a username and password or API key. For a local library, make sure your files are in a location that you can grant through Android's system file picker.
2. Choose a content source
When you first open the app, choose where your content is stored:
- Add server: Connect your own Komga server.
- Use local folder: Create a local-library connection, then link existing folders or let Koharia create library folders.
Both connection types can coexist, and you can add another connection later from connection management.
3. Complete the matching setup
- For Komga, follow Add a Komga server to enter the address and authentication details.
- For files on the device, follow Add a local library to choose the library organization, folders, and metadata storage.
4. Check your libraries
After setup, verify that the shelf shows the expected content. Komga displays only libraries available to the current account; a local library completes an initial scan and can be reindexed later with pull to refresh.
5. Adjust settings as needed
Before you begin reading, adjust library display, reader, and download options in Settings. If you plan to download a large amount from Komga, choose an appropriate download location first and use Wi-Fi or charging when possible.
