What is Koharia?

Koharia is a third-party Android comics and books reader for Komga, Kavita, LANraragi, smanga, and local media libraries.

Does Koharia provide content?

No. Koharia only displays content that you are allowed to access through servers you configure or local folders you explicitly authorize.

Do I need to deploy a server?

No. Choose Use local folder to create a local-library connection. Server connections and local libraries can coexist.

What versions and credentials do providers need?

Kavita targets 0.8.0 and later and uses an Auth Key/API key. smanga targets the 4.3 API, requires OPDS, and uses a username and password. LANraragi targets 0.9.70 and later and uses a server address and optional API key. Komga supports an API key or username and password.

Does linking a folder move or delete files?

No. Adding an existing folder grants access and builds an index; removing it does not delete the original files. Importing media, creating library directories, or writing sidecar metadata requires a writable location.

Which formats are supported?

Koharia supports images, comic archives, PDF, EPUB, TXT, Markdown, MOBI/PRC/AZW/AZW3, and DjVu. Markdown supports headings, lists, blockquotes, code blocks, and an outline, but not embedded images; tables degrade to text and a file is limited to 16 MiB. MOBI-family support is experimental, and DjVu depends on Android WebView WebAssembly.

Why can I see metadata but not read offline?

Shelf metadata cache, reading cache, and manual downloads are separate states. Download the complete chapter or file for offline reading; see Offline and sync.

How does reading progress sync?

Each server synchronizes only the progress, history, bookmarks, or annotations it supports. Local-library positions and local bookmarks stay on the device. Some providers queue offline changes and ask you to choose the local or server version when a conflict occurs.

Does TTS upload chapter text?

Yes. When Edge or MiMo reads aloud, the current chapter text is sent to the selected TTS vendor for synthesis. API keys are encrypted on the device; do not use a network read-aloud engine if you do not want text to leave the device.

What should I do when a download fails?

Check free storage, folder permissions, network access, and server-account permissions. Confirm in the relevant server web interface that the account can open the item; providers differ in download and PDF/Archive behavior.

Which Android versions are supported?

Koharia requires Android 8.0 or later.
