Add a Kavita server
Koharia has a built-in Kavita connection and does not require a Mihon extension. The integration targets Kavita 0.8.0 and later; available actions still depend on the server version and account permissions.
Prepare the details
- The Kavita server address, including the complete reverse-proxy subpath.
- A Kavita Auth Key; older versions may call this an API key.
- Network access from the device and an account that can browse the target libraries.
- An optional LAN address if the same server is reachable faster over Wi-Fi.
Steps
- Open connection management, choose Add connection, and select Kavita.
- Enter a connection name, server address, and Auth Key/API key.
- If you use a LAN address, open the advanced address options and enter the address for the same server.
- Save the connection and let Koharia verify the account and server identity.
- Choose the libraries to browse, then return to the shelf and refresh.
What the connection provides
Kavita connections can browse comic and book libraries, series, volumes, and chapters with search, sorting, and advanced filters. The server dashboard may also expose Continue Reading, recent updates, collections, Want to Read, reading lists, and Smart Filters.
Koharia provides the matching comic, EPUB, and PDF reading flows, along with progress sync, pending offline changes, personal table-of-contents bookmarks, comic-page bookmarks, and EPUB highlights and annotations. These features may be unavailable when the server or account does not support them.
Common issues
- Authentication fails: create a fresh Auth Key and confirm that the reverse-proxy path is included.
- Only cached results appear: offline search covers downloaded books or saved filter results; uncached queries require a connection.
- Progress conflicts appear: another device changed the reading state, so choose whether to keep the local or server position.
- Shelves cannot be edited: dashboard, reading-list, and Smart Filter permissions are controlled by the Kavita account.
Basic Kavita reading does not require Kavita+; subscription features are supplied by the server.
